In class, we have been discussing the balance between consuming and producing. Consider whether, while using your laptop, you are spending more time looking at things (pictures, videos, text, etc.) or creating and sharing content/information of your own. Are you watching interesting videos, or making interesting videos. Are you spending more time playing games, or making games?

An 8th grader in Utah created an iPhone app that happened to become the most popular free download from iTunes. It’s a game called “Bubble Ball.” You have used Scratch to build a project; this 8th grader used Corona to build Bubble Ball (pictured above). Corona is a bit more complex than Scratch (it does not have drag and drop building blocks/scripts) but watching these videos might encourage you to try it out.

Speaking of making your own stuff, check out these recent projects by NH and SS!

Bananas in Pajamas

Bananas in Pajamas:
The fifth graders’ first go at a collaborative Scratch project!

Muffinis Talkinus

Muffinis Talkinus:
The sixth graders’ first go at a collaborative Scratch project!

Have an itch?

Have an itch?:
“Create and share your own interactive stories, games, music, and art.”

Get your GoogleCal on

Get your GoogleCal on:
Learn some cool tricks for Google Calendar!

What if your teacher runs out of batteries?

What if your teacher runs out of batteries?

Question of the day: In the technology world, what is “the...

Question of the day: In the technology world, what is “the cloud?”

I tried eating this website

I tried eating this website:
Bookmark sites and share them with others.
